A promise of Restoration

Hello everyone and welcome back to a new blog! We are already 21 days into the new year! I hope it has been a blessing to you so far.

My best friend and I are currently studying the Book of Isaiah and so far we have read up to Chapter 4. Isaiah chapter 4 verse 2-6 stood out to me, as this chapter demonstrates God’s promise of Restoration and went perfectly with my blog theme for this year.

It states; But in that day, the branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious; the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of all who survive in Israel. All who remain in Zion will be a holy people, those who survive the destruction of Jerusalem and are recorded among the living.

The Lord will wash the filth from beautiful Zion and cleanse Jerusalem of its bloodstains with the hot breath of fiery judgment. Then the Lord will provide shade for Mount Zion and all who assemble there. He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day and smoke and flaming fire at night, covering the glorious land. It will be a shelter from daytime heat and a hiding place from storms and rain.

This chapter is a build up from chapter 3, where the verses highlighted the consequences of disobeying God. Isaiah 3 is a warning that God will punish the people for their sins including their disobedience by removing everything from them.

However in chapter 4, God demonstrated that there is still hope for restoration if they obey and stay faithful to Him. The branch of the Lord is Christ, The Messiah and those who remain faithful to Him will delight in the prophetic promise of a beautiful and glorious future. Christ Himself shall be exalted, His gospel shall be embraced.

When living in submission under Christ you will be set apart as a remnant. Regardless of those around you who have been unfaithful to God, He will acknowledge and preserve you under the dominion of Grace. You shall be accepted and called Holy. God will reform and protect His church and all who belong to it. He will rectify and amend whatever is amiss in it. God will shield His people who have been faithful and obedient to Him. He will be a hiding place to all the saints.

In addition Psalms 32:7 states; ‘You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.’ God is a protector, He is a place of safety and a refuge to His people.

As I am writing this blog, it reminds me of the song ‘God Problems’ produced by Maverick City Music, Naomi Raine and Chandler Moore: ‘I’ll find my safety in Him, He is still a strong tower, still a strong tower. I know where to go, I know where to hide, my hiding place, he’s still a strong tower, he’s my hiding place, he’s still a strong tower.’

There is still hope for God to restore everything that was once lost, broken and destroyed in your life. God wants to bless you, he wants you to be full of joy and prosper. But you must live for him, be faithful and obedient to his word. Trust him to guide you and lead your steps. If You Give God Everything, He Will Give It Back 100 Times Over.

Stay blessed x
