Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. I thank God for allowing me to continue to serve Him through my writing. I thank God for this gift to give him the glory and share with others his goodness.
God has been so good to me this year. It’s been a very joyful and blessed year and I truly believe it is because I’ve allowed God to come into my year and really change and transform things around for my good.
I started the year 2025, implementing my first ever Daniel 21 day fast. The fast is inspired by the prophet Daniel; abstaining from certain foods such as animal products, processed foods and beverages such as juice and alcohol. It is a 12 hour fast between the hours of 6am to 6pm.
Fasting is a spiritual practice, a private act of our faithfulness to God. And we are instructed to maintain a normal appearance throughout the fast. We must not be like hypocrites who make a show of their sadness to appear holy (Matthew 6:16-18). Fasting is how we can draw closer to the Lord, seek his guidance and to grow in wisdom and understanding.
I dedicated that time to powerful prayer, leaning deeper into Gods word, drawing toward him so that he can draw towards me (James 4:8). I surrendered my year to God and I trusted Him with the plans he has for me (Jeremiah 29:11).
As it was my first 21 day fast, it was quite a challenge, especially given up certain foods such as meat and dairy products. But I thank God for the strength and the willpower to push on and complete the fast until the very end.
I am so glad I did because as the year continued on, I witnessed Gods hand in every corner of my life. I noticed the way He stepped in and showed up in every circumstance.
God has elevated me in my career, I have the most amazing, beautiful and understanding friends. He allowed me to meet my person, the man I absolutely adore and adds onto my happiness and joy every day. This was also the first year in a long time I didn’t have the stress of my studies, so I travelled more and really made the most out of this year.
I am grateful to the Lord above for his grace and his mercy over my life that is new every single morning (Lamentations 3:22). I am grateful for his love and his abundant blessings over me.
I am grateful for all the open and closed doors, for all the rejections and acceptance, the ups the downs, the good and the bad because it was all within Gods perfect purpose.
As we approach 2026 I pray that you start this year off with God! Delve into prayer and fasting. Surrender 2026 to God, give him your year and let him transform it for you in the best way!
God bless xx
